About the Project

Award winning photographer Brent Humphreys needed to produce a website for his ambient photo study of the Tour de France. It needed to be a custom website able to scale each of the photographic images to suit viewing on anything from small laptops to large, wide-screen monitors.

Brent later needed an e-commerce extension to the website to promote and sell Le Tour themed merchandise designed by TBA+D.

Lalande Strategies worked with TBA+D on design and interactive elements for both Project le Tour and the Shop.

Within a week of launching Project le Tour, and with the help of inbound links from social networking sites and popular blogs, the site achieved up to three thousand unique visitors a day. A few months later, the Google page rank achieved a 5/10 rating – uncommon for a new website.

The website was “site of the day” on sites such as www.designtaxi.com (July 22, 2009).

About the Project

As the voice of mining in British Columbia, the Mining Association of BC required a fresh and relevant website to reflect their corporate and professional stature.

Working with MABC, Bernie designed the site architecture based on their main objectives and requirements. Some of the requirements included an interactive mining map, a job board, an events calendar, and an intricate membership section with various levels of access.

Bernie directed the design, development and content migration efforts.

After collaborating the website’s development with Xplorex, a CMS based website was successfully born. The website is informative and resource rich. It conveys the prominent leader that MABC is in the mining industry.

About the Project

Morguard Investments needed a marketing strategy to work hand in hand with the redevelopment of an outdated strip mall into a fresh, upscale, haut couture style shopping environment.

With a team of high level programmers, copywriters and designers, Bernie provided direction and hands-on expertise. The project included a leasing brochure, videos, tradeshow display, website, site signage and an event in Whistler to launch the new Uptown brand.

Uptown gained recognition from the major players within the target retail class which ultimately lead to an influx of signed leases from key retailers. The Uptown project also won silver in the business-to-business mixed use category from the ICSC Canadian Shopping Centre Awards.

About the Project

Ivanhoe Cambridge needed to re-develop Metropolis at Metrotown’s website from ground up, reflecting their Burnaby-based flagship mall of 450+ retailers.

Bernie directed this project which included the design and development of a consumer-focused home page, mall and community based events calendars, a contest, and a section for in-mall retailers to post jobs. In addition to this, an interactive Store Directory was developed and integrated together with a cutting-edge application allowing visitors to plan out their shopping trip.

The website and “Style on the Street” contest were launched in time to coincide with back to school promotions.

About the Project

Ivanhoe Cambridge wanted a website in place before breaking ground for the construction of the final office tower located in the heart of Burnaby.

The website needed to mirror the high-tech, sustainable and sophisticated tone of Metrotower III. Working closely with the architect, Bernie directed the design, development, photography, and 3D rendering & animation artist to produce an intuitive and visually appealing website.

The website conveys the iconic prominence of the new tower and outlines the benefits of occupying office space within the triple-A class tower.

About the Project

Nettwerk Music Group CEO Terry McBride and his YYoga team needed a unique web presence with a goal of gently welcoming visitors to yoga. The website was also required to support an expanding network of yoga studios under the new YYoga brand.

The scope included a workshop & events calendar, and integration of YYoga’s membership & teacher schedules for each of the locations.

Working with Nettwerk and MindBodyOnline, Bernie directed the design and development teams. Together, they crafted and produced a beautiful website encapsulating the brand essence of the YYoga brand.

About the Project

Intracorp required an informative website for a residential real estate development in South Surrey.  The site was to integrate Highland Park’s distinct appeal.

Once Bernie worked out the site structure and navigation with the creative designer, he developed and programmed the Flash based website. The animation used on the welcome page was crafted to reinforce the brand’s evolving nature and quality.

Carefully constructed, this website is as unique and stylish as the homes it portrays.

About the Project

Highly sought after photographer – Fredrik Broden -  retained Bernie to design and develop a self-promotional website. The website was to amplify Fredrik’s unique style of conceptual photography featured in top magazines such as Fast Company, Newsweek, GO, and Esquire.

The website’s intro is immediately consistent with Fredrik’s promotional booklet designed by TBA+D. Large photographic images randomly load into the background, adding freshness and interest each time a visitor arrives.

The understated presence of navigational and interactive elements allowed the photographer’s work to stand out.

The website was recognized by the Advertising and Design Club of Canada and was published on both www.theadcc.ca and the ADCC’s 2006 annual.

About the Project

Celebrated concept illustrator Brian Cronin engaged Tom Brown of TBA+D and Bernie to design and develop a website which would exhibit his extensive and expanding collection of works. The trio met in New York and discussed various design ideas. Brian’s goal was to have a design which would not distract from his work and allow him to take control of content including the background colour.

After a few iterations, Brian approved a design concept co-designed by both Tom and Bernie.

Bernie developed the site with the idea that it would be relevant many years down the road. The site launched in 2005, and it currently holds more than 800 images.

The website was recognized by the Advertising and Design Club of Canada and was published on both www.theadcc.ca and the ADCC’s 2005 annual.
